1954 Vespa F. Basso

Beautiful and all-original 1954 Vespa 125 Faro Basso (“Low Light”), You would be hard-pressed to find another scooter of this model in such original, preserved condition anywhere in the United States. This Vespa was imported to the U.S. in the 1990s and has been rarely ridden since. The scooter has now been cleaned, tuned, and checked for safety. The current engine is equipped with oil injection and a large plastic oil tank (note: no sight glass). The scooter was acquired by the seller in 2026 Power comes from an air-cooled 198cc two-stroke single paired with a four-speed manual transmission shifted via the left-hand twist grip. The scooter starts easily, runs exceptionally well, and is currently registered in Virginia. Included with the scooter are the original parts manual in five languages, a vintage adjustable date calendar, and an original sales brochure.
